Summer Buzz

Much to my own dislike........I let the boys get buzz cuts for the summer. While buzz cuts are not my preference what's the harm in the long run? And they love them. They've even asked to keep them throughout the school year but I'm not obliging that request. Maybe again next summer.

T-Ball 2009

Fun, Fun, Fun, Fun, Fun. We had a blast this t-ball season. Having Benjamin and Joel David on the same team was really great. They both enjoyed playing and would often talk about how good they intended to play in the games. The biggest highlight.....THEY EACH GOT THEIR VERY OWN (for the first time) TROPHY. You would have though someone handed them a million dollars. How precious! Thanks to all the family that came to the games. It meant a lot to the boys and to me.

JDG PRE-K Graduation

And the next night......we were at Joel David's graduation. I see a pattern forming. With the older of our three just a year apart in school we have lots of fun. We get to celebrate lots of things together. It is great for character-everyone's. :)
By the way, let me just add that pre-k and kdg graduations seemed a little silly to me....until I had children in these positions. My my my how perspective changes things.

BTG's KDG Graduation

Our little Buckaroo graduating from Kindergarten....UNBELIEVABLE! After practicing and memorizing his lines Benjamin opened the graduation program by saying "We begin our closing program in the name of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. We wish to welcome our parents, family, and friends." He said it perfectly. Yea Buckaroo!

My Sweet Precious 1 yr old

Stereotypes exist for a reason, right? I can't believe it is July 24th and I am just now posting my third, emphasis on third, son's birthday pictures. You see, Silas turned 1 on May 22. I'm so sorry my precious one. I didn't forget about you.
Here he is with his cake which he was not very interested in eating........the grapes were too enticing....fine by me. He splish splashed away in his water table which he loved/s and his Mia got him a ride on Tow Mater (from the movie Cars) which was also a big hit.

Strawberry Pickin

In May we spent a fabulous day with Mia picking strawberries in Millington, TN. But that was only one of the many fun things we did that day. She came and picked us all up, we drove to Millington to see her office on the Navy Base, went to her favorite (and now ours too!) resturant in Millington called Old Timers and had the most wonderful smoked chicken, and then we went strawberry pickin. Thank you Mia for such a fun day.

A Mother's Love

Before I knew what happened.....I not only agreed with Taylor that we would let Joel David get a kitten....I suggested it. I'm not sure what came over me at that moment. It must be all the love I have in my heart for Joel David and how much I knew he would enjoy having a kitten. You see, I am not an animal person but Joel David is. And for him it was a great decision. This is the first picture taken of them the day we brought Oreo home. We've had him now for about two months and he has just become a full-time outside cat. All of the knots in my stomach over having a cat in the house have been untied and I can finally breathe easily once again. Oreo has taken well to the outdoors and does not stray very far from home. His sister lives across the street and they are best buds. They are either both at our house or both at the Gettings house. Joel David has had a few panic attacks when Oreo has been out of sight for too long or "stuck" in a tree for any length of time but he is making it through with our encouragement. I have had several prayers during these moments asking the Lord that if this is the time for Joel David to learn what it is like to loose a kitten that He will prepare him for it and if it is not the time for this lesson that He will send the cat back home. So far....Joel David gets to keep learning how to love a cat. :)
